About Old Hollywood Candle Co.

Old Hollywood Candle Co. started with a question: what if a candle brand behaved less like a shop, and more like the era it’s named for? The best rooms didn’t have signs on them, and once something was gone, it was gone, except for the people who’d actually been there. That’s the shape we’ve built this brand around.

“She was conscious that the things she did were the things she had always wanted to do.”

There’s one signature scent, Ayala. Always here, always available. Everything else arrives as a Drop: small, themed, and gone for good once it sells out. We don’t run ads often or post constantly on a feed. We write, and every so often, we send a candle to someone we think would genuinely love it.

CURRENTLY BREWING

The Next Drop Is Already Taking Shape.

Right now, we’re finishing Ayala, our signature pink champagne scent, and quietly working out what the first real Drop will be. Which era it lives in, which room it belongs to, what it should feel like before anyone knows what’s in it.

Nothing here is rushed, and we don’t intend to start now. We’d rather let something sit until it’s actually right than push it out early just to have something to announce. Join the list below, and you’ll hear from us the moment either one, Ayala or the first Drop, is finally ready to meet you.

“Nothing is impossible. the word itself says ‘I’m Possible!'”– Audrey Hepburn

A Few Favorite Things

02. The film we’d watch on repeat

Z: The Beginning of Everything: the story of Zelda Fitzgerald, before she became a symbol and while she was still just a girl from Alabama who didn’t yet know what she was starting. It’s not a relic of the era; it’s a way back into it.

04. The superstition we keep

Never name a Drop before the candle’s been burned at least once. Some things you have to actually sit with before you know what they are.

06. The line we’d steal

“She quietly expected great things to happen to her, and no doubt that’s one of the reasons why they did.”

01. The song that never gets old

“The Charleston” (1923). That’s about as Roaring Twenties as it gets.

03. The ritual we never skip

Sunday Self-care day: light Ayala, put a hair mask on, face mask on, soak in the tub, and feel absolutely magnificent.

05. The drink we’d order

A French 75: gin, champagne, lemon, and just enough bite to remind you it’s not just a pretty drink. If Ayala had a cocktail counterpart, this would be it.
ONE LAST THING…

Our Story Is Still Being Written.

Everything on this site — the scent, the drops, the history, even Delphine’s letters — is being built slowly and a little out of order, on purpose. We’d rather let something sit until it’s right than rush it out just to have something to show.

You will always be a big part of how we evolve as a brand, so if there’s ever anything you’d like to see, or a Drop you have an idea for, feel free to reach out to us at hello @ old hollywood candle co .com

Until the next drop, – Old Hollywood Candle Co.

For Brands and Press

Think We’d Get Along?

If you’re a brand, boutique, stylist, or writer who thinks your world and ours might overlap, we’d genuinely love to hear from you. We can’t promise a candle to everyone who asks, but we’re always looking for people whose taste we admire.
